The itinerancy of preachers
proclaim truncated gospel.
Because redemption
is dirty with the earth of Creation.
Are we?
Landmarks, remembrances
of brokenness
are the same stuff of Redemption.
Redemption takes place
in Creation:
in dialects and places
in families and farm fields
in grown vegetables and at table
in names and memories.
The itinerancy of preachers
removes them from the
placedness of a place.
And makes redemption an
otherworldly thought.
When preachers become shepherds
and gardeners of the Nazarene
then Redemption is earthed in the stuff of
Creation
and hope has a name.
When pastors are placed
and at Home.
